All About our CLIPP Certification!

I am so proud to announce that I'm now a CLIPP Certified Interior Designer! What does that mean? CLIPP stands for “Certified Living in Place Professional.” If you or your parents need help staying in their home and remaining independent as they age, I can work with you to make spaces more accessible without sacrificing design!

Living in Place Design = Accessibility + Aesthetic, personalized for each person’s needs

Your home should be your safe place — your port in the storm. You shouldn’t have to leave it behind simply because your needs have changed. That’s where a Certified Living in Place Professional comes in!

According to the World Health Organization, accidental injury due to falls in the home are the second-leading cause of death in individuals 70 and above. This is a scary statistic that can lead families to spend untold amounts of money moving loved ones out of their homes and into assisted living facilities.

But getting older doesn’t have to mean losing independence, or taking independence away from a parent who wants to avoid that outcome. AR Design is trained in transformation, making spaces more accessible without sacrificing elegance. From disguised grab bars, to h

igher toilets; from curb-less showers, to better lighting and n

on-slip floors, we can make your home safe AND beautiful!

It all begins with a safety assessment at your home. From there, we make recommendations, and provide you with a report identifying accessibility and safety hazards and how we plan to address each one.

Take a look at this ADA-compliant bathroom renovation we just completed. No walk-in bathtubs here!
